Career History

Since admittance as a solicitor of the Supreme Court I have practiced in Leyland to the present day

I believe that the Client’s interests are of paramount importance. They deserve a first class service which can only be achieved by attention to detail, a positive mental attitude and devotion of my time to their matters.

My Principle whom I was under Articles was very strict and disciplined and this made sure that the job was done right the first time.

The consequences of such training has been to my advantage and has enabled me to run successful businesses over the years and given the Clients confidence to rely upon my support.

Until ill health forced me to partially retire in 1991, I was the Managing Partner of the business I had created under various successive names with 4 Partners and 70 staff operating from the office in Leyland and 4 other branch legal offices and 2 estate agency offices. I was the first in Lancashire to open a Solicitors property shop. Due to my illness I downscaled, but upon recovery, I ultimately took new partners with whom I continue to practice.

My Legal experience started in 1958 as a Clerk with the usual General Civil Court Experience and then continued under Articles for 5 years with Probate and Conveyancing, the Old fashioned way, which stood me in good stead

Upon qualification I commenced to expand the practice which I acquired, from my Principle Harry Wood, in 1970

During the 52 years I have experience in : Criminal Law, Motoring and Liquor licensing

Matrimonial

Wills and Inheritance Tax Planning

Probate and Trust work

Planning Appeals

Industrial Employment Appeals

Civil Litigation in the County Court, High Court and Chancery Division

Conveyance both domestic and commercial, together with Leasing

Business and Corporate work especially Company acquisitions

I relinquished visits to the Magistrates, County Court and High Court, which enabled me to concentrate on matters such as Probate, Conveyancing, Leasing, and especially Corporate work. However, I still undertake some complicated Civil Litigation matters in the High Court and Chancery Division.

My experience in the Commercial field placed me in many unique positions, which I have duly seized and guided me in many different avenues and at one point I operated 13 different business, in various fields

Accordingly, I am able to give advice in many different areas of law and business management

When I am not in the office, I can be found enjoying a glass of red wine in the company of people of various associations, of which I am a member.
