The Hearing
It is difficult to provide an accurate timescale as to when your hearing will take place which depends on the Court administration, the work load of the Court and the length of the hearing which itself will possibly last for half a day in respect of a guilty plea and could be at least a day for a NOT guilty plea. Usually the matter will be concluded with a period of 3 to 6 months.
Statutory Time Limits
For most motoring offences the police/prosecution must issue the summons before the Magistrates with a period of 6 months from the date of the offence otherwise it will be barred from prosecution.
Note the present standard VAT rate is 20%
